My concept here with this domain name is a website where you shop on-line for all sorts of stuff; the difference being that it caters to all sorts of points and airmile plans in a big way.

That is the plan; what do you think?

Appraisal?

Won't anyone give an appraisal of this domain?

not a very good name turn it into a shopping mall site or something get your money back

"Get [my] money back"?

Doesn't the fact that it can be turned into a shopping mall make it worth something?

ahh pointshopper is nothing close to halfprice.com lol

lol? Thanks.

The thing is that they are only getting/buying the name. If it came with a developed site it would have some value. I can come up with a name which is just as good and reg it for $8 and do the same thing.

OK OK I get the picture.

Thanks for the input everyone.

I dont know if you've checked out my domains but I have many made up ones that are considered to be garbage by most here.

The only thing thats good about them are most can be easily developed into a simple functioning site with little or no money invested, just time and a $8 Domain.

I guess only the best one-word names are what we should be trying for... (sigh)

HalfPrice is not one word. There are lots of great two-word domains out there, they just have to be two very strong words that really complement each other. CheapTickets, FloridaVacations, CustomComputers, there are thousands of examples. Everyone wants Cars.com, Computers.com, etc. but unless you have a Bill Gates style budget you are never going to get any of those. That doesn't mean you are out of the game, so keep your chin up John.

To me the problem with PointsShopping is there is nothing there to motivate and excite a buyer. Points programs can be a nice bonus but I don't think many people are motivated to go shopping just so they can acquire some points. The two words just don't go together well enough to present a compellingreason to want to go there.

Well, actually they might be motivated. Lots of people are nuts about points. Me I don't care; I don't even have a points plan I use.

Where I work customers will often cancel an order just to re-do it on line to get a few bonus points.

Anyway thanks for the input and advice, everyone.
