Again you have below average reading comprehension. The OP, me, is not upset at all people consider it a waste of money. That's their opinion and it could turn out to be right. I'm upset because someone tries to put me down for daring to buy for $7 private registration for a domain you consider a waste. How that is difficult for you to grasp I don't understand. I don't buy thousands of domains, I've just bought about 20, of which 3 were mobi. This isn't a put down of the guy who owns a lot of domains, he's doing what he thinks is right for him, but I personally would rather own say hypothetically 500 domain names with private registration then own say 1000 that did not have that, even if it costs me some sales. I don't feel comfortable making it relatively easy for anyone to get my home address, phone number, etc. But again that is just me. Maybe others of you aren't bothered by that. So for the final time, I don't take offense to someone considering my domain name a waste but to him embellishing his comments about me wasting private registration on that. I don't understand why that's so hard for you to grasp but people hear only what they want to hear.

The only .mobi domains worth buying are generic dictionary words or words that relate to the mobile phone industry. For example, ringtones, wallpapers, porn, phone directories, image/video uploaders, email etc.

Saying that however as i mentioned 'porn' it still needs to be a one-word domain that people well think of typing into the phones browser. Currently the .mobi market has not taken off, its still 50/50 as to whether customers will embrace this.

Without a popular Mobile Search Engine for cell phones, no one outside of the 'Domain industry' even knows about the .mobi extension.

With exception to Yahoo and several other large companies, 90%+ of online businesses do not have a mobile version using the .mobi extension.

If i search Google on my Vodafone Mobile, for 'sex' or 'porn' or 'wallpapers' i still get the .com websites coming up. Unless search engines are going to index .mobi above all other domains when the search comes from a mobile device, these .mobi domains will never be popular.

If you had bitches.mobi, than you would have a 50/50 chance of it becoming a business. But myBitches.mobi, no one will type that in to their cell phone.

As I said way back when, yes of course I don't want my name associated with "bitches" for which I was put down for being a hypocrite. I'm still thinking there are plenty of people who'd want to have websites with "My bitches". Obviously your not going to find a US domain for $8 that is Bitches without another word.

I'm thinking right off the top, that private registration on GoDaddy is around $7 with their discount coupons. You quote a lower rate. Maybe I gave too high a figure but it seems like I'm paying around $14.50 for a domain for 1 year + private registration.
As things are, I'm happy with GoDaddy as I find their customer support excellent & I'm use to their software, etc. Having said that, we're talking about someone who's spent
maybe $400 on everything so for me saving a bit isn't much of a factor right now.
My only criticism of Godaddy is their "Express Appraisals" which are a joke in my opinion.

Useless domain, underdog extension, a total waste of time and money for both the thread's author and readers. I have never seen such a display of immaturity, inability to cope with other's opinion, lack of net etiquette, poor choice of domains, and total lack of interest in learning from others' past experience, which is the bread and butter of newbie domainers. As another reply pointed out, it's very clear who is the big loser here.
