I've been contacted to sell the following domain name: b-c-s-s.info. The potential buyer wanted me to get it appraised. So here I am, what do you think it's worth?

If the potential buyer wanted you to get it appraised, it sounds like a scam.
did he tell you were to get it apparaised?
Why doesnt he appraise it?

am i missing something ...

it's a .info, it doesn't mean anything and it has 3 hyphens???

the only acronym i could find is - British Cervical Spine Society

i'd say less than reg fee

Way less than reg fee! I think it was probably a scam email

I don't know if it's a scam, he emailed me twice about it, he said that he wants to get appraisals from both sides. What should I tell him? I thought it was a scam in the first place that's why I didn't reply to his message, but he kept on nagging me.

It sounds as if it's a scam. I would recommend you throw an offer of $50 his way and see what he says. In reality it seems if this name is not worth much at all as everybody has proclaimed. However in certain cases some end users are willing to pay more than people would think. If he really wants the name that badly he would probably pay at least $50. Ecspecially being an end user. Most likely this is a scam trying to get you to purchase an appraisal from a particular company. If it's not I wish you luck with the sale.

the question begs to be asked...

why on earth did you register this in the first place? if you saw value in it, maybe this person sees the same thing

the appraisal request is a red flag, but on the other hand any chance to sell this one for actual money should be welcomed as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and pursued with vigor. by all means, do not invest any money in an appraisal. if nothing else, tell the prospective buyer that he can do it and you'll deduct the cost of it.

let us know how it turns out

Thanks for your appraisals, I don't like this domain name either. I registered it as a short url for buy-cheap-shop-smart.info, I know the pack isn't worth much but hey I was a total newb when I registered them:)

This domain is so bad, that had you put it in the thread title I would have never clicked to give an appraisal. Since I did, here it is: $0

I didn't put the name in the thread title on purpose :P Thanks for your appraisal.

Fle8: oK, thanks for that link. Now I know it's a scam. The guy in my email called himself Thomas Berg but his occupation is identical to the one in the thread. I'm gonna add his email address to my spam directory. Thank you for clarifying this.

considering b-c-s-s.com is still available, about 3 F$

Stinos: you're probably right, that's how much I would make if I were to get a professioanl appraisal for this domain name.
