1) why would anyone switch ownership of their domain in order for you to broker it ?
2) why didn't you publicly apologize in these forums to the former owner of beat.com,
since you publicly slandered him for *your* questionable contract terms ?
3) why do you act so pompous when having a few good names doesn't make you a big player ?

and, "you can rest assured that in my 20 years of age I've got more money that Rick has seen during his entire life"

wow, that's great. you obviously have millions in cash at your disposal. why don't you fly all dnf forum users to a top
resort destination, and help educate all of us about making it big like you ?

:-D Very good :-D

>>>so don't shoot the messanger even if it is his ultimate decision, nobody wanted him to let you in and you have yourself to thank

By the way Yakov, Signguy is right. When you applied to join the board Rick didn't make a decision against you. He had no idea who you were. It was board members who voted not to let you in based on your character and reputation and the way you carry yourself on other boards and with dealings with other people in the industry.

Still trying to figure that one out.
Some possible guesses...

A) Russian Mafia
B) Porn Industry
C) Ill-gotten gains or unjust weights and measures
D) Lottery / Luck
E) Lowballing domain holders then selling higher (as we've seen)
G) Inheritance
H) Misfortune Of Others
I) Spamming

We know it doesn't involve...

A) Hard Work
B) Making Friends Here
C) Buddying Up To Rick
D) 3 Letter Domains (at least originally)
E) Traffic from Fashion.us

Now let's play nice. I don't think B, E, G are bad ways of making money, there's nothing wrong with it in my eyes.

We also don't know that Yakov doesn't work very hard, he very well might.

Gosh ! Yakov's being bashed too much...
And I am feeling mixed here....
But well he can get all that crap & yet not care if he's made more than Rick has ever seen. Wow, that's a big statement. Shows 20 yrs of immaturity or well someone real big enough to take us all to Geneva or Athens for a conference.

And as far as "clemzonguy's" Russia with Love comment:
Nope, cannot be any of those points.
It's got to be:
J. Russian Brides online

sunshine said:
>> I can only say here, that charging the 1-5k is part of what makes him rich no?

NO. dead wrong.

he's PAYING more than most in order to make the conference happen.
he's not MAKING MONEY, but rather SPENDING IT, as our many others,
in order to to bring this conference together.

yakov, i don't know you at all. so i went back and read your previous posts to
find a little more about you.
my goodness, after spamming members of this forum and then telling them to
f*** off when questioned about it, claiming in a thread that you're "getting bigger
and bigger all the time",,, that you "play only with the big boys",, offer to sell your
ENTIRE portfolio for only $1.5M,,, and have "all the contacts anyone will ever need",
i cannot believe you'd actually have an intelligent audience in this business that would
listen seriously to ANYTHING you post.
you should probably think more about the future of your business before burning the
bridges to the "big boys" you *claim* to know.

sunshine,
You seem to be associated with Rick or his fan. That's all fine.
As I said I know nothing about him nor the conference. However, I strongly believe (though I admit, I maybe wrong here) that the fact is he is "making money" from this.

I am very sure that I am NOT "dead wrong."

Gosh, you seem to be defending him too much, or maybe you are part of the team that is spending money to make this happen, so you know the truth.

But with all those sponsors I just cannot think you guys are doing a charity show. It's all about the money : )

PS: If it is really 'educating the people' or making loss into gearing for future profitable events, then you may consider passing me a ticket : )

And yes, I agree lay off Blink. Reminds me of those skin head gang attacks some are prone to fester in.

Just because the Hilton sisters are evil *(%!es and probably stay in their hotels for free, and give discounts to their friends, that does not prevent me from staying in the Hilton Hotels.

Bill Gates might be a prick, but that does not keep me from using software.

I may think Wal Mart is evil and taking over the world, but I still buy their goods, because they are cheapest.

If I followed your ideology of not using a product because I hated the CEO of a company or the founder, I would be living in my car on vacations, pulling my hair out while trying to teach the temp how to use Linux, and paying twice as much to shop at KMart..... and I would own no .com/.net names (since Verisign is run by a bunch of %#*@ers)

'Scuse the language

T.R.A.F.F.I.C. UPDATE

The seminar on INCREASING VALUE OF CLICKS will feature presentations by Ron Sheridan of DOMAINSPONSOR.COM, Dan Warner of FABULOUS.COM, and Mike Feeley of KANOODLE.COM.

The Thursday luncheon will feature the Three Attorneys (not to be confused with the 3 Tenors or the 3 Amigos), John Berryhill, Ari Goldberger and Howard Neu (me) on the latest developments in domain litigation.

There is now a link on the registration page at http://targetedtraffic.com to seek an "invitation" to the event to be admitted at a discounted price. However, attendance will be limited to the first 150 registrants.

There will be a domain auction at the Friday night dinner to be conducted by POOL.COM. Awards will be presented to the SPONSOR OF THE YEAR, the DOMAINER OF THE YEAR, and the WE GET IT AWARD will be presented to the brick and mortar company that makes the best use of the internet.

There will be plenty of time for networking at the GETTING TO KNOW YOU COCKTAIL PARTY, the YOUR LUCKY DAY COCKTAIL PARTY Sponsored by POOL.COM. There are only 2 sponsorships left if anyone is interested.

The question to ask is not if you can afford to be there - it is if you can afford NOT to be there?
I personally registered for me, my partner, and another person.
Since I know the caliber of people who put this together, the caliber of people who will attend, and the business opportunity that wil lbe available for a number of days, I have no doubt in my mind this conference will result in a substential extra revenues and deals for my business.

I read this thread with interest, and the site with the trade show details. I've had for or no interaction with those involved, which made it MORE interesting to me. I've been to a lot of trade shows of all types, but this one has red flags all over if of being someone's ego trip. It starts here with the pricing:

Contributing Board Members $850
Uninvited Domainers and Industry guests $5,000
Past Board Members kicked off Board NOT WELCOME

... which translates to: If you didn't buff someone's ego, you'll pay for that by paying him 600% more than anyone else.

The text gets even worse... one expects these things to be a sales pitch for the organizers/speakers/sponsors, but this thing reads more like a high school argument. The boasts are a bit over the top; I was expecting to read quotes about their male member size, the way it was going.

How about a FREE get-together? Hell, I'll even organize it in San Diego if there is enough interest. We have venues (dance clubs and such) here holding up to 400 people I can get for free, just promise to buy a drink or two. It's sunny most of the time, beaches, bikinis year-round, Sea World, and the sights of Los Angeles are a 2 hour drive north, Mexico 30 minutes south. Wireless connections abound, and I can hope scope out inexpensive hotels.

I can afford to be there. But agenda items like this suggest there are better ways to spend the time:

2 P.M. - Seminar by DOMAIN KING on MORONS!! GOD LOVE 'EM

That's 2 hours of your life you won't ever get back.
