This becomes a problem for non-US residents, to first get the cheque by snail mail and then another 15-20 days further to get in encashed.
Paypal payments would have simply made it much more easy and user friendly.

the current system is putting a lot of people off
i think people would be more than happy for godaddy to take payment and have their own escrow, Christ you're big enough to have your own escrow
then you can distribute cash to sellers anyway they like
sellers will have to swallow the paypal charge not you which they will be fine with to get the cash quick i imagine
or make all buyers use escrow for over $1k
i'm sure most domains are over 41k anyway to factor in your huge commission charges of 30% etc

this is one area you REALLY to need to move on as other areas are pretty darn good and automated like tdnam

There are laws in Arizona and USA laws preventing Go Daddy from doing this. That is why escrow.com is based in Canada.

I find it absolutely ridiculous that they make you wait until 45 days after the end of the month that it was sold, though the buyer already has full re-sale rights to the domain name. How absurd is that?

Actually mid March. Payment takes place within 45 days of the end of the month it was sold.

Seems like not too long ago someone started a thread on the forum about how elated they were to sold a name on premium listing with GD only to have the money taken back and transaction canceled...by the buyer. A mistake was made? Same OP??? Can't recall all the specifics, but they were unhappy how the transaction went down...and down and down and down and so on.

I have dealt with multiple non paying time wasters from the godaddy auctions...the "premium" names are also listed on the auction site , but you only pay 7% if they find you there. All of those transactions are made through escrow.com - I have had 2 in the past month go to escrow only to have a no existent buyer. really a let down.

I'm just glad I didn't list my names at GD... The downside is the name is not listed at auction, if it was it would be listed on top.

Buyer countered doubling his initial offer, but will need to double that offer to meet my counter offer... I'm pretty sure I know who the buyer is as he owns both the .org and .net, fully developed.

Been pretty satisfied with the premium listings myself. Haven't had any go bad, and I just adjust my prices accordingly for their cut. If it's a name I prefer an offer on or really don't want to sell, i put a high price on it. If it sells, I'm happy. If not, no loss. Chances are they will contact me directly on the better ones to try to negotiate a lower price than I have them listed for anyway.

After experiencing this with a recent sell, I have removed all of my domains from GoDaddy auctions.
