Thanks for the reply Fischermx.

God, I now have tens of domains that I would like to register and can afford only one or two... @600 USD per domain, it's bank breaking!

Wonder how long it would take for a keyword .mx domain to sell at decent $x,xxx

It depends on the social and economical status the people.
I never search in Spanish, but I never "type-in" either.
Neither my kids, though my wife does.
So, none of my nearest friends search for things in Spanish unless the topic is local, like news or things that are related to Mexico or Latinamerica.
Heck, just look at nic.mx. They have choosen to use "registry" and "registrar", instead of "registro" and "registrador"!
For any kind of research is all English.

For people in lower classes is Spanish or nothing.

Yes, both "el" and "la" are good, if and only if the keyword worth it.

What do they mean?

Thanks

The mean "The", in both male ("el") and female ("la") forms.

It is valid, but it is as good and bad as it in English.

For example, compare in English:
"Forum.com" and "TheForum.com"

It will sound as good or bad in spanish "Foro.com" vs "ElForo.com".
Get it?

Sometimes it really make sense and add value, but most of the time it doesn't.
And you will still have to beat the owner of the domain without the "el/la" prefix.

Okay.... If you owned the .com.mx and were allowed to preregister the .mx and you now own both, is it necessary to keep the .com.mx? Will the .mx version eventually win out over the .com.mx? I'm sure that any decent .com.mx registrants jumped at the chance to register the shorter .mx domain. Any thoughts?

Oh... I registered - Hawaii.com.mx years ago and was allowed to purchase Hawaii.mx in preregistration.

What CMS is that !?

The most expensive CMS out there, actually not a CMS but look like one. Powered by Blogger and it's FREE. I'm using the same template for www.king.net website for years.

Yes, no cost to maintain my website. And I'm also using Google Apps (http://www.moscom.com/apps) for my email. Send email if you have other questions. This thread is for .MX extension.

Hope this help,
Em

Is it better to get Spanish or English words?

Seems like a lot of decent ones are left in both languages. This landrush is kind of muted by the economy, and high reg price.
