But you are not impartial, given you were banned, and you don't like them. I mean, c'mon.
Unlike some others, I was never banned over at DomainState (actually not anywhere perhaps because I know where to draw the line) or ever have any flame war with any mod there in public, it's the undertone delivered esp. via PM that anyone could clearly tell he or she is not welcome, just because I was a voluntary moderator here at that time, and that was AFTER some 9 months of active contribution with hundreds of posts many of which regarding their once VERY promising appraisal panel.

Of course, if you compare that to Gregr (a.k.a. Fearless) and his backyard BBQ mentality, they are still kind of professional. As a matter of fact, I was among those who fled DNForum because of his takeover, and joined DomainState on Day 1 (or Month 1, userid=36).

First off I wouldnt knock the backyard mentality, some off the most successful people are not the best spoken, written or need to lick ass and get everyone off. I find most " professionals " on these boards are all talk and no game.

Not saying I do not conduct my business professionally but what you call professional I see as kiss asses and big talkers who went to college.

Greg may be a highly uneducated backyard BBQ piece of white trash but I admire him, he has so far beat out those edumicated college folk

And Im not bias because I got my grade 10.

I never was banned there. I think I came close a couple of times.

I remember in their beginning months they would look like they were almost dead and I would do something here to piss off a few people and they were revived from the brink of death. I take credit for the site's success. ;)

domainstate was a school for me
best appraisals
Matt opened a domainsponsor account for me
dnforum was the real marketplace
bought a lot of nice domains back in the live auction days here
sold some
i never got banned ( i was close to be ,the first days Adam bought it )
domainstate is a part of our history for many of us
i hope the new owner(s) find a way to place it in a way more helpfull for all of us
Domainstate is the "Bar" and Dnforum is the "Restaurant"
you can talk about anything between beers and you close deals at dinner
these are my random thoughts...

** I take credit for the site's success.**

And you should take credit Greg ... it was because of your take over of DNF that created DS ..

I assume you mean the 3 Amigos.

Those 3 admins and a few key members such as ilikeinfo and domosapians seemed to be a high percentage of the acivity so without that very small group the DS traffic would be much lower than it already is, imo.

Fearless bought the forum. Some (former) moderators doesn't like it, so DS and Namepros were born.

I think I will bid, still have few days to decide. This is a good addition to my existing domain name registration to open it's own community. Or it's better to open one? What do you think?

People tend to forget chronology after so much time passes. Those moderators were gone before I bought the joint.
Another tidbit. They left because the DNF user Realnames outbid them. Realnames bailed on the deal when the moderators bailed.

I don't want to go back there.

Are you bidding in DS? if yes then I will stop right here. I will never beat you in auction.
